MEET THE PALLIATIVE HOD
Mass Communication Department Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State has from the time of it's inception headed by different Heads which worked to the best of their capabilities to take the department to where it is today.
Not long ago, an iroko of discipline appeared. A man who even did more and has break record marking his great and wonderful achievement just within few months of his tenure in the office. He is the people's HOD.
He is a man of exquisite character. An epitome of hard work and an Erudite scholar. A man of immense Charisma and a philantropist.
His act of Benevolence and hard work has acousted him many support both from his colleagues, his students and the world outside which led to his popularity with many names that melts the heart. He is called the HOD of the people by the people and for the people, The 7:15 lecturer, the Erudite Professor and the most common of them all is the "Palliative HOD"
Following his Inception into office on January 2020, he has won the heart of many mostly the students. His art made him popular not just to his department but to other departments across the institution. This was as a result that no other HOD has done what he has been doing. He also won the best Lecturer of Federal Polytechnic Oko in the year 2019.
He is a graduate of Mass Communication of the institution and thought it is time to represent the institution well. In his word"Who knows that a student of this institution will become the Head of Department some day. This is the time to make a difference." He is actually making a difference. He is man of action.
The HOD recent sharing of Palliative has won him many hearts that some students calls him the king of hearts.
The King of hearts began a weekly sharing of Palliatives in order to cushion the rate of hunger which usually surfaces during the exam period. More so, after the Corona Virus Lockdown, many families went broke and this directly affects the students who are in daily need of bread to survive and Excel academically. He has however, taken it on himself to ensure that no record of collapsed individual will be recorded during the exam period and also to enable the students to prepare very well for their exams.
However, the People's HOD did not stop at just curtailing hunger in the department but has also went on to ensure that the students are taking lectures under a well conducive environment. He provided Two gingiantic standing fans and other wall fans for each of the classes in the department. He also went further to minimize the amount of money students pay during practicals. The people's HOD has maintained zero tolerance to corruption in the department, starting from the students, to the lecturers and to the administrative unit of the department.
More so, he made himself available to the people he represent. He is approachable and that is why he was able to know and understand the need of students and lecturers of his department. He ensures a one on one talk with his students monthly. Disputes in the department we're also being tackled.
The people's HOD also changed the dressing code of the students. The students now put on their normal white on black with their ties and black shoes or sandals. The departmental wears are appropriately worn on Wednesdays. This brought admiration and praises to the department of Mass Communication.
The Honorable Mister, Erudite Barrister, hard working Lecturer and philantropic man of the moment. The king of hearts, the palliative HOD and the people's Man. A happily married man with kids. A man of action, a desiplinarian and an adviser is no other but Barr. Dr. Fidelis Mmmaduabuchukwu Oduah.
