I will do a housekeeping post tomorrow, but if you're interested, here's my stash from the market today.
Flowers are a luxury. This bunch was $6 and they last two weeks.
And they all look like alien spawn.
And they look so nice in our living room. They even out the look on our central bookcase, don't you think?
Broccoli, two glorious heads for $1.
Spicy salad mix, a big bag, for two days of big salads. $2.
20 Grade A X-Large eggs, free range, no antibiotics, organic. $4. Arlo eats eggs for breakfast every morning so we were relived to find a cheap source for really good and healthy eggs for him.
Three bundles of perfect pencil thin asparagus for $5 (one bunch for $2, three for $5). I will roast them with a little olive oil and salt and pepper and eat them like candy all week.
Organic Gala Apples, $2 a pound. We can get them much cheaper at the grocery store or Trader Joes but the quality of the ones right off the farm is astounding. I grew up in apple country and these are the best apples I've ever had.
The ice cream truck is back from it's winter break! Hooray! (Yes, it's the first weekend in February.) Dark chocolate with cacao nibs for the Goose and Evan, Lemon Basil Sorbet for the boys and I.
What, you might ask, is Oscar doing? Starting a Valentine's Day craft that will look really good on my blog but will inevitably end in me hollering at my kids!
Hmm. I'll update you later on how this ends up. Points to anyone who can identify the craft that we are preparing and the Mormon Mommy blog in which it appeared!
Fridays means Pizza Night and Family Movie Night. Except when Oscar had a playdate and the kids spend hours of screen time on Friday afternoons and then we move it to Saturday.
My little pizza maker.
Lucy's pizza, Arlo's pizza, and the little pizzas they made "for the mousies."
We watched The Music Man, which is, in my humble opinion, the best movie ever made. The kiddos were tired and crabby but boy was there awesome dancing during "76 Trombones" and "Marion the Librarian."
